St. Stephen's Pre-School Philosophy

We believe that each child comes to Pre-School as a `package' of developing values, attitudes and skills. Within this are the child's interpretations of their life experiences to date, their learning styles, interests, needs and strengths.

To enhance and develop the uniqueness of each child our programme offers a diverse range of experiences that are both child and adult initiated. We believe that it is important that all children feel acknowledged, special and unhurried where through play and interactions they will have the time, choice and the freedom to explore and learn.

We believe that educators and families must work together cooperatively with a respect for each others knowledge and expertise. This partnership is not only crucial to the development of each child's sense of worth, well being and security, but also to the sense of community and belonging.
