Meals and Snacks

Each year we have children enrol at Preschool that have allergies to food products, bee stings, and other products within the environment. Our duty of care is to ensure that we provide an environment that minimise the possibility of risk or harm wherever possible. We ask that no nut products or spreads are sent to the Preschool.

As required for licensing by DOCS the children's morning tea, lunch and drinks must be stored on a refrigerator until they are to be consumed.

Morning Tea

A healthy snack in a small named container, a ziplock bag or named paper bag. Eg. Fruit, crackers, cheese, yoghurt etc.

Lunch

Sandwiches, fruit, cheese, savoury snacks, small salads, yoghurt in a plastic Lunch Box measuring 22cm x 18cm x 10cm, clearly marked with name.

Please no peanuts or other nuts. In line with our Nutrition Policy, please remember that sweets, cakes, biscuits etc are 'sometimes foods'  and not encouraged at Preschool.

Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to reheat food, so all foods must be able to be eaten straight from the lunch box. Cooler bags are not necessary as lunches are stored in a fridge.

Drinks

Please send a named drink bottle with your child each day that will cater for morning tea and lunch. NO cordial or milk.

Fresh water is always available and is offered.

Birthdays

We love to celebrate staff and children's birthdays alike. If you would like your child to share their birthday with their friends at Pre-School please send enough iced cup cakes, doughnuts or a large cake for at least 40 children. Please check with staff if you are unsure. Other birthday ideas include small jelly cups, iced biscuits, honey joys, mini muffins etc
