As a Preschool attached to a church we freely share our understanding of God with the children throughout the day. Whilst we do not run a Bible based programme we do say Grace each day before lunch, talk about God and his impact on our lives. At Easter and Christmas time we teach about these celebrations from a Biblical perspective. At the same time we do not avoid or speak against the ‘Easter Bunny' or ‘Santa Claus', but they are not the focus of our teaching at this time.
Throughout the year members of the Church Ministry team come down to Preschool to talk to the children, read bible stories etc. We are proud of our relationship with St Stephen's church and are very blessed to be part of the St Stephen's Community.
Senior Minister - Rev Colin Watson
Our Preschool, whilst community based is part of the wider Christian community of St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Normanhurst.
The church offers a number of Growth Groups, Pastoral Care programmes, Children/Youth Programmes, Play Group, Mother's Union, Women's and Men's groups, English as a Second Language (ESL) class.
Members of the church are families within the Preschool and the Church community also has a presence on our Management Committee.
We have 2 Preschool Family Services per year. These are always lovely, the children sing and we have a light meal afterwards.
If you have any questions regarding the church and its community programmes talk to the Director or contact the church office on 9487 3730 or email office@ststephens-normanhurst.org.au.
Prayer Circle
Every day, just before we start the Preschool day the staff participate in a Prayer Circle, where we give thanks, ask for guidance and wisdom, and pray for family and friends.
