As you know all the children have a Portfolio or journal created for them and with them each year. They are as individual as your child and your child's teachers. There is no one set way to do Portfolio's - but at our Preschool their purpose is to document not only your child's learning and development but also to be a cherished keepsake of their time at Preschool. They are a collaborative work between the children and the staff.
During the week the Portfolio's are available for you to have a look at, however, it is important to remember that there will be times when nothing new has been added - the staff work on the portfolios in their own time, outside of work hours, so it is rare that there would be anything new put in your child's portfolio each day.
It is also important to remember that no two portfolio's will look the same. So I respectfully ask that when looking at the portfolio's you only look at your own child's and not anyone else's. These are in essence confidential records.
Portfolio's are sent home at the end of each term for you to look at and share with your child.
